Terms of use

Last updated: June 2026

Welcome to the Zento platform, at getzento.com (the "platform" or the "site").

The platform is operated under the Zento brand ("we", "us", "the platform operator"). You can reach the platform operator at hi@getzento.com.

Using the platform is subject to these terms. Browsing the platform, creating an account, booking an appointment, or using any service offered here means you accept these terms and our privacy policy in full. If you do not agree, please do not use the platform.

1. What the platform is

Zento is a technology platform that connects patients with independent acupuncturists. Among other things, it lets you:

  • Search for acupuncturists, view professional profiles, and read reviews and ratings
  • Book appointments online directly with an acupuncturist
  • Complete intake forms defined by the acupuncturist
  • Process payments, store a payment method, and charge cancellation or no-show fees per the acupuncturist's policy
  • Receive appointment reminders and updates by email
  • Publish and manage a professional profile, for acupuncturists

The platform is a technology tool only. It does not provide medical or therapeutic services and is not a party to any course of care.

"Acupuncturist" means an independent licensed acupuncturist listed on the platform. "Patient" means a user who books an appointment or receives a service from an acupuncturist.

2. Accounts and eligibility

Some services require you to verify your identity:

  • Patients verify with an email address and a one-time code sent by email.
  • Acupuncturists register with an email address and password, and verify a phone number with a one-time code.

The service is intended for people aged 18 and over. A minor who needs care must be booked through a guardian. You must provide accurate, current details, keep your credentials confidential, and are responsible for everything done through your account.

We may suspend or close an account that breaches these terms, breaks the law, or harms other users.

3. Acceptable use

The platform may be used for lawful purposes only. You may not:

  • Provide false or misleading information, or impersonate any person or organization
  • Damage another user's reputation, or post abusive, inciting, or unlawful content
  • Harvest user data, scrape the site, or use it commercially without prior written permission
  • Attempt to compromise the platform's security or availability

We may remove content or block users who breach these terms.

4. Responsibility for care: between patient and acupuncturist

Treatments and services are provided by independent acupuncturists, not by the platform operator. Accordingly:

  • The agreement for care is directly between the patient and the acupuncturist; the platform is not a party to it.
  • The platform is not responsible for the quality, suitability, availability, or outcome of any treatment.
  • The platform does not provide professional oversight of acupuncturists and does not verify licenses or credentials.

Important: acupuncture is not a substitute for conventional medical care. Nothing on the platform is a diagnosis, medical advice, or treatment, and nothing here promises a cure or any particular result. For any medical condition, consult a licensed physician.

5. Acupuncturist commitments

An acupuncturist who creates a profile represents that:

  • The information in the profile (name, specialties, location, description, prices, cancellation policy) is accurate, current, and not misleading.
  • They comply with every law that applies to their practice, including licensing, tax, and invoicing requirements.
  • They are responsible for the intake forms they define and for the health and personal information they collect from patients, as the party responsible for that information.
  • They set and publish their service prices, cancellation policy, and no-show fees in advance.

The acupuncturist authorizes the platform to process payments, issue invoices, and send messages to their patients on their behalf and according to their settings.

We may edit, remove, or restrict profiles and content that do not meet our platform guidelines.

6. Booking and intake forms

When booking, a patient provides their full name, phone number, and in some cases an email address, and selects a service and a time. You may be asked to complete intake forms defined by the acupuncturist, which can include health questions.

When booking, you may be asked to accept the acupuncturist's terms and/or the Zento terms, and in some cases to sign digitally. That acceptance, including the time and IP address, is recorded as proof of consent.

Booking creates a commitment to the acupuncturist only. Availability, confirmation, and delivery of the appointment are up to the acupuncturist.

7. Payments, stored payment methods, and charges

Payments are processed by a secure, PCI-compliant third-party processor (Stripe).

  • We do not store your card number. Card details go directly to the payment processor. We retain only an encrypted token that allows a future charge, never the card details themselves.
  • Card on file: for services that require it, you will be asked at booking to provide a payment method that is stored for future charges. Storing the method involves verification only, not a substantive charge.
  • Cancellation and no-show fees: a late cancellation or a no-show may be charged automatically to the stored payment method, per the policy shown and accepted at booking. The amount is a percentage of the service price locked in at booking, according to the time tiers the acupuncturist set.
  • Invoices: an invoice is issued for each charge. It is issued for and on behalf of the acupuncturist through the platform, and includes the relevant customer details.
  • Refunds: where a charge is made and later reversed (for example, an acupuncturist cancels after charging), the refund is issued through the payment processor and a credit note is issued accordingly.

Service prices, cancellation policy, and how charges are applied are set by the acupuncturist and shown at booking.

8. Paid services for acupuncturists

Some acupuncturist services are paid, such as subscription plans and advanced features. Terms, prices, and features may change from time to time and are subject to what is shown at the point of purchase. Canceling a subscription does not guarantee a refund unless expressly stated otherwise.

9. Reviews and user content

The platform lets users publish reviews and content about acupuncturists. By posting a review you represent that:

  • The review reflects a genuine experience
  • The content is not abusive, defamatory, or unlawful
  • It does not break the law or infringe anyone's rights

By posting content you grant the platform operator a non-exclusive license to display and use it in operating the platform. We may remove reviews and content at our discretion.

10. Intellectual property

All rights in the platform (including its design, code, logo, content, and system structure) belong to the platform operator or the relevant rights holders. You may not copy, reproduce, distribute, or otherwise use platform content without prior written permission.

11. Platform availability

We make reasonable efforts to keep the platform available, but maintenance, technical faults, and temporary outages can happen. We do not guarantee uninterrupted availability.

12. Limitation of liability and indemnity

You use the platform at your own risk. To the fullest extent permitted by law, the platform operator is not liable for loss arising from:

  • The treatment, the relationship with an acupuncturist, or the outcome of care
  • Reliance on information, reviews, or ratings on the platform
  • Technical faults or unavailability
  • The acts or omissions of third parties, including payment and communication providers

The platform is provided "AS IS" and "AS AVAILABLE", without representation or warranty of any kind, express or implied, including fitness for a particular purpose, accuracy of information, or freedom from interruption.

To the fullest extent permitted by law, the platform operator's total aggregate liability to any user, on any cause of action, will not exceed the amount that user paid to the platform operator (as distinct from payments to an acupuncturist) in the three months preceding the event, and where no such payment was made, will not exceed $100.00. The platform operator is not liable in any case for indirect, consequential, or special damages or lost profits.

You agree to indemnify and hold harmless the platform operator, its officers, and anyone acting on its behalf against any loss, expense, damage, or claim (including attorneys' fees and court costs) arising from your breach of these terms, your breach of any law, or your use of the platform.

13. Changes to these terms

We may update these terms from time to time. The updated version will be posted on this page and applies from the date it is published. Continued use means you accept the updated terms.

14. Governing law and jurisdiction

These terms are governed by the laws of the State of Texas, without regard to its conflict-of-laws rules. The state and federal courts located in Travis County, Texas have exclusive jurisdiction over any dispute relating to these terms or to use of the platform.

15. Contact
